Neighborhood: In the Heart of Hudson Valley
Number of Rooms: 17
Type of Hotel: Luxury Inn and Spa

Situated on 75 verdant acres along the banks of the Hudson River just 70 miles from New York City, Buttermilk Farms Inn + Spa has been a-work-in-progress – and labor of love - over the last decade for New York real estate developer Robert Pollock.  Originally a country chic bed and breakfast occupying the circa 1764 structure that is now the main building, it has morphed into a full-service luxury resort in the heart of the Hudson River Valley complete with a destination dining restaurant, a six-treatment room spa and even an organic farm.
Buttermilk Falls Inn + Spa seamlessly blends historic charm with modern amenities, offering 17 distinctively decorated guest rooms and suites in the historic main inn building, a former barn and four carriage houses.  All feature marvelous river, garden or pond views; working gas or wood fireplaces and many boast private outdoor space.
The lush grounds invite exploration, as does the property’s 40-acre Millstone Farm, which provides Buttermilk Falls’ new Henry’s Farm to Table restaurant with organic produce, herbs, fruits and berries.  Heritage chickens supply farm fresh eggs daily, while peacocks, goats, lamas and alpacas keep an eye on the guests.  Henry’s culinary team, led by Chef Paul Kelly, supplements Millstone’s bounty with that of other local farms and artisan producers.
The farm’s contribution to Buttermilk Falls guests’ experience extends beyond the kitchen and to the spa, further connecting guests to their surroundings. Signature “Soil to Spa” treatments incorporate Millstone’s herbs and fruits. The facility, which takes advantage of solar and geothermal power, is masterfully merged with its natural surroundings providing guests the opportunity to relax (indoor) poolside overlooking some of Buttermilk Falls’s gardens, one of its ponds and the Hudson River.
